Mirrors – Reflections

My Neighborhood – Theme: Reflections

Challenge 1: Using Reflections to create unique and artistic photographs

Objective: Using Reflections to Make Cool Pictures

Instructions:

  1. Find something shiny or a body of water, like a lake or a puddle.
  2. Look closely and see if you can see a reflection in it. It’s like a mirror!
  3. Hold your camera or phone up to the reflection and take a picture.
  4. Try to make your picture look different and special. Get creative!
  5. Share your final photograph with a brief description explaining how you used reflections to guide the viewer’s eye.

Challenge 2: Neighborhood Streets and Sidewalks Expressed through Reflections

Instructions:

  1. Take a walk around your neighborhood and pay attention to the streets and sidewalks.
  2. Look for puddles or shiny surfaces on the ground. These can act like mirrors and create reflections.
  3. When you find a puddle or shiny spot, stop and look at what’s reflected in it. It could be buildings, trees, or even yourself.
  4. Get your camera or phone ready and try taking a picture of the reflection in the puddle or shiny surface.
  5. Move around and try different angles to see how the reflection changes.
  6. If you see something cool nearby, like a colorful flower or a funny sign, try to include it in your picture too.
  7. Share your final photograph with a brief description explaining how you used reflections to guide the viewer’s eye.
